Syncing Obsidian Across Mac and Windows
Obsidian stores notes as local markdown files. To access the same vault on both platforms:
- OneDrive: Put your vault folder in
~/OneDrive/Obsidian/. Accessible from both platforms. - iCloud: Put your vault in
~/Library/Mobile Documents/iCloudDrive/Obsidian/. Works on Mac and iOS. Access on Windows via iCloud for Windows. - Git: Version-control your vault. Most portable but requires manual sync.
Recommendation: OneDrive is the safest bet for Mac + Windows because it syncs natively on both.
