Windows Integration
If you use both platforms, configure these to keep your Mac and PC in sync.
Internet Accounts
System Settings > Internet Accounts
Add your work accounts here so they sync across Mac's built-in apps:
| Account Type | What It Syncs |
|---|---|
| Microsoft Exchange | Email, Calendar, Contacts, Reminders, Notes |
| Email, Calendar, Contacts, Notes | |
| Microsoft 365 | Same as Exchange (use for work accounts) |
Adding your Exchange account here means Apple Calendar, Mail, and Contacts all show your work data without needing Outlook.
Default Browser
System Settings > Desktop & Dock > Default web browser
If you use Edge on Windows and want the same experience on Mac, set Edge as the default browser. Your bookmarks, passwords, tabs, and history sync automatically via your Microsoft account.
Default Email App
Open Mail > Settings > General > Default email reader
Set to Outlook if it's your primary work email client on Windows.
Keyboard Modifier Keys
System Settings > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts > Modifier Keys
If you switch between Mac and Windows keyboards frequently, you can swap Ctrl and Cmd so the muscle memory matches. This is especially useful with an external keyboard you share between machines.
