Sidecar
Turn your iPad into a second monitor for your Mac.
How to Connect
- Click Control Center in the menu bar → Screen Mirroring → select your iPad
- Or: System Settings > Displays > click the "+" button → select your iPad
Modes
- Extended Display: iPad acts as a separate monitor (most useful)
- Mirror Display: shows the same thing on both screens
Sidecar Features
- Touch Bar appears on iPad (even if your Mac doesn't have one)
- Apple Pencil works as a drawing tablet in supported apps
- Can be wired (USB-C) or wireless
Universal Control
Use one keyboard and mouse/trackpad across your Mac and iPad placed side by side.
Universal Control Setup
- System Settings > Displays > Advanced > turn on "Allow your pointer and keyboard to move between any nearby Mac or iPad"
- Place your iPad next to your Mac
- Move your cursor to the edge of your Mac screen toward the iPad: it crosses over
You can even drag and drop files between devices.
